Philadelphia, unlike New York City and New Jersey or Miami, Orlando Florida the birthplace of modern American democracy, was founded by William Penn in the late 17th century. The city’s name translates to “City of Brotherly Love” and has been a symbol of freedom since its inception. Located in southeastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia is the country’s fifth-largest city.

Philly’s Old City houses its most historic attractions (the Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, Independence Hall), as well as a burgeoning young artist and student community.

Philadelphia has long lived in the overwhelming shadow of New York City, just 90 miles down the road, but this lovely city is chock-full of terrific museums, cultural centers and great restaurants. An urban renewal program kick-started in the 1970s continues to this day, revitalizing the city that was William Penn’s capital and the beating heart of the Revolutionary cause.
Philadelphia, a dynamic place where big city excitement meets hometown charm, awaits your arrival. Famous as the birthplace of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the cradle of liberty offers much more than cobblestone streets and historical landmarks. Cultural, culinary, artistic and ethnic treasures abound in this city and its surrounding countryside. The fifth-largest city in the country, Philadelphia is a welcoming place, a city based on freedom of expression.
New and one-of-a-kind attractions, a wealth of art and culture, renowned performing arts companies, awe-inspiring architecture, a walkable downtown, seemingly endless shopping (with no tax on clothes) and a restaurant renaissance that has caught the world’s attention all promise to create an unforgettable Philadelphia experience.
And, of course, the greatest concentration of American history can be found just blocks away at Independence National Historical Park, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
Best of all, Philadelphia’s compact downtown places all of this and so much more within a short walk or cab ride from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and any downtown hotel.
Experience the Philadelphia renaissance by strolling through a series of spiffed-up neighborhoods, exploring glorious Fairmount Park, catching a play or symphony or a night of live music or clubbing. Oh ? and, while you’re at it, get a major dose of history, too.P
hiladelphia is one of America’s most walkable cities, which adds to its tourist appeal. Philly is marked extremely well by “Walk! Philadelphia” signs on each block (sometimes only several feet apart) that guide visitors toward shopping, dining, art galleries, cultural attractions and public transportation. Visit the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, home to many museums such as the Franklin Institute and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (from the Rocky movies).
Philadelphia has the largest collection of public art in America, courtesy of the city’s innovative Mural Arts Program, designed to stop graffiti and enliven the city’s buildings. Other notable public art includes the many glass mosaics found throughout the city; a sampling can be seen on South Street east of Broad.

Once a vacation has been decided upon then the planning and cost factors all have to be taken into consideration. With today’s economy, many families are being forced into vacationing within their own country. This can actually be a very pleasant experience especially if one utilizes the luxury travel vans as a mode of travel.
In fact, a beautiful part of a trip is the road to the destination, which allows for many stops at interesting places along the way. This is all easily attainable if one decides to rent one of the Dodge Sprinter Height Top Vans. Its spacious atmosphere and comfortable seating makes any length journey a most pleasant one. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling with seniors or toddlers they are all subjected to the same highest level of comfort in one of the passenger vans.
If a 12-15 seat luxury van is a big bigger than what you require why not ask some other family members to travel along with you. It’s a great cost saver and for families on a budget it is the only way to truly have a great vacation by saving on travel costs. Vans can easily be rented and/or dropped off in locations such as in NY NJ CT PA and Miami Orlando Florida, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale Florida.
Even for night travel, the luxury vans are perfect. For those passengers having a nap is not a hard thing to do. With the comfort that these seats offer, it can actually be a chore staying awake.
Actually, some individuals start renting a luxury van reluctantly for their holidays. They are of the first impression that it is an inferior holiday. When they discover the many benefits of the safety, cost savings and comfort, they soon become avid rental van uses whenever the situation calls for it.
Another very important factor is that van rentals from a reputable Company means you are traveling in a safe and well-maintained vehicle. There is little fear of breaking down and ending up on the side of the road for hours. This is often a horrific but common scenario when the family vacation starts out in the family car that has seen better times.
Summary:
With the cost of travel being so costly now, it only makes sense to look for cheap alternatives. The argument could be raised that gas is expensive and therefore not that much of a cost saver when it comes to traveling. The point is though with a van rental it can be utilized for several family and friends who can all share the cost.
